AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austin man was sentenced to community supervision in connection to hitting a person riding a scooter with his vehicle in July 2022.
Matthew Thompson, 28, pleaded guilty to intoxication assault with a vehicle and was sentenced in July to five years of community supervision, according to court documents. His driver's license will also be suspended for about two years.
At the time, Austin police said Thompson hit a person on a scooter with his vehicle in downtown Austin and left the scene. Austin police also believed Thompson was intoxicated. The scooter rider was injured in the crash.
