BAKU, Azerbaijan – As the Philippines reels from back-to-back storms that hit Luzon in November, young Filipino climate activists and groups troop to Baku, Azerbaijan, to call for climate justice and increased reparations from developed countries at the United Nations Climate Change Conference or COP29.
Although COP29 fell short of meeting the Global South’s desired climate finance goal of $1.3 trillion, the young Filipinos vow to continue demanding urgent action from governments on the climate crisis.
