Samuel L. Jackson shared a hot take about getting nominated for an Academy Award.
The 75-year-old Marvel star has taken on many famous roles over the years. However, he’s only received one Oscar nomination (in 1995 for Pulp Fiction). He received an Honorary Academy Award years later in 2021.
During a recent interview, the actor opened up about being nominated at the prestigious awards show but not winning.

“We’ve been in the business long enough to know that, you know, when folks go, ‘Well, it’s just an honor to be nominated.’ No it ain’t. It’s an honor to win,” he told the AP. “You get nominated and folks go, ‘Yeah I remember that.’ Or most people forget. Generally it’s a contest you didn’t volunteer to be in.”
Samuel continued, saying, “They nominate you and folks go, ‘What is that movie you’re nominated for? What’s the name of that thing?’ And after it’s over, people have a hard time remembering who even won.”
