Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren have been added to the cast list for the new Guy Ritchie TV show on Paramount+ with Showtime. The project is currently untitled.
The streamer is describing it as an “electrifying, new global crime series” that focuses on “two warring families and the loyal fixer charged with protecting one of them at any cost.” Production is underway in London right now.
Hardy plays Harry Da Souza, a professional conciliator on behalf of the Harrigan family. Brosnan takes on the role of Conrad Harrigan, the head of a successful Irish crime family based out of London for whom Harry works. And Mirren will sink her teeth into Maeve Harrigan, Conrad’s wife and the Harrigan family matriarch.
Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, said, “Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren are masters at their craft and we are honored to have them lead the cast for Guy Richie’s new global, original series. Guy, Jez Butterworth, and Ronan Bennett’s creative prowess, coupled with these gifted actors, is the perfect recipe for what we believe will be the next brand defining series for Showtime on Paramount+.”
Jeff Grossman, Executive Vice President of programming for Paramount+, said, “The firepower on and off the screen in this new Guy Ritchie crime series will deliver exactly what audiences expect from Paramount + with Showtime: high-caliber acting, high-impact storylines and high-level production from some of the best in the business.”
Hardy won a News & Documentary Emmy for the nature doc “Trophy” (2019), plus he’s an Oscar nominee for “The Revenant” (2015).
Brosnan is seeking his first career Emmy nomination.
Mirren has won four Primetime Emmys for “Prime Suspect: The Scent of Darkness” (1996), “The Passion of Ayn Rand” (1999), “Elizabeth I” (2006), and “Prime Suspect 7: The Final Act” (2007), and is an Oscar winner for “The Queen” (2006).
Ritchie received his first Emmy bid this year for directing “The Gentlemen” on Netflix.
