BETHANY Platt is set to make a disturbing discovery in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.
The character – played by Lucy Fallon – fell victim to botched liposuction procedure in Turkey earlier this year.
Bethany uncovers a shocking revelation about the clinic’s owner – and she’s left wanting revenge.
In scenes yet to air, she is struggling with being fitted with a stoma bag.
As Bethany attends her support group, it becomes clear that Dawn, the group leader, is lying to her.
Specifically, about the operation that meant Bethany later required a stoma bag.
In the meantime, Sarah (Tina O’Brien) finds a news article stating the Turkish clinic Bethany used had botched another liposuction operation.
Following Bethany seeing this, she contemplates suing the clinic for yet another botched operation.
Adam (Samuel Robertson) advises Bethany and Sarah to demand compensation from a UK-based director of the Turkish clinic.
After he reveals their name, the mother and daughter are left shocked.
Coronation Street announced the ambitious storyline earlier this year, in a major show first.
After Bethany felt increasingly insecure about her looks and appearance, she jetted off for cheap cosmetic surgery.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go quite to plan – and the character learn the hard way about the consequences of botched operations.
Speaking previously about the storyline, actress Lucy Fallon said: “Obviously this is really hard-hitting, which is exciting from an actor’s point of view, but it does come with quite a lot of pressure and responsibility to get it right because this happens to real life people.
“The storyline is also incredibly important as there’s countless horror stories out there of people talking about their experiences of cosmetic surgery abroad.
“So, I really hope this storyline can make people rethink going abroad for cosmetic surgery.”

In another challenging experience, Bethany came face to face with Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) a few months ago.
