SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Schenectady Police arrested a Niskayuna man early Wednesday morning for an alleged hit-and-run. Police said Richard I. Gordon, 29, is charged with leaving the scene of an incident with personal injury and vehicle and traffic violations.
Police were called to the intersection of Union Street and Nott Street for a woman who was hit by a car and lying in the middle of the road at 1:18 a.m. The 41-year-old victim is in critical condition after being transported by Mohawk Ambulance to Albany Medical Center.
Through investigation, the Schenectady Police Department's Traffic Division and Schenectady County Sheriff's Office identified the vehicle as a 2024 Tesla. Law enforcement determined that the car was registered to a Niskayuna address.
Police arrested Gordon with assistance from the Niskayuna Police Department. He was released and is due back in court in December.
