ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) - Research shows holiday stress impacts women more than men. If you're hosting and cooking tomorrow, you're likely feeling the pressure; from worries about getting the food right to everyone just getting along.
In this week's Women's Health Wednesday, psychologist Julie Morrison, PhD with HPA/LiveWell is back with some great insight to help people manage it all.
To avoid getting overwhelmed, try to avoid comparison on social media and set a clear goal for what you want your holiday to feel like so it is a success. Another great way to calm the worry, Dr. Morrison says to create a list of things that need to get done and focus on tackling them one-by-one.
If your concern is about avoiding conflict, Dr. Morrison suggests talking to your guests ahead of time and trying to redirect the conversation if it starts to go down a road you want to avoid. As someone who may be sensing that a person doesn't want to be involved in the conversation, try to respect their boundaries.
Bottom line: do more of what fills you up.
