Tottenham Hotspur’s manager has shed light on the injury situation surrounding three significant players, Cristian Romero, Micky Van de Ven, and Mikey Moore.
Tottenham Hotspur have faced an unsettling injury crisis this season, with no fewer than six players currently sidelined.
Among those battling various fitness concerns are Richarlison, Guglielmo Vicario, Wilson Odobert, Mikey Moore, Micky van de Ven, and Cristian Romero.
Each absence presents a unique challenge for Ange Postecoglou, who must navigate a demanding schedule with a depleted squad.
The timing of these setbacks could hardly be worse, given Spurs’ aspirations in the Premier League and Europa League.
With the Roma clash fast approaching, Postecoglou faces the challenge of managing a stretched squad, requiring careful decisions on rotations and tactical adjustments.
Although Tottenham’s form this season has been inconsistent, navigating this period without key players will be a true test of the team’s depth and resilience.
In a tweet shared by the official Spurs account on X, Ange Postecoglou has offered a detailed update on the status of Cristian Romero, Mikey Moore, and Micky van de Ven. His tone reflected both optimism and caution as he outlined the road to recovery for each player.
On Cristian Romero, Postecoglou said: “Cuti he is getting better, he is a lot closer. I am hoping he will sort of be out there training with the group, with a bit of luck back end of this week. If not, definitely next week.”
Turning to Mikey Moore, Postecoglou noted: “And Mikey is the other one that we are still taking it sort of slowly with him. Still probably a couple of weeks before he is kind of ready to fully get back into it.”
Finally, on Micky van de Ven, he added: “Yeah, Micky is still on course, working harder, training again. It is sort of day by day with him. We just gotta again make sure he ticks all the boxes before he gets reintegrated in.”
His comments highlight the club’s commitment to ensuring players return only when fully fit, minimising the risk of further setbacks.

Postecoglou’s measured approach to player recovery is a testament to his understanding of the long-term demands of competing on multiple fronts. However, the immediate challenge remains—Spurs must find a way to cope without several of their regular starters.
As a Spurs fan, I am hoping that the return of key players like Romero and van de Ven will come sooner rather than later. Until then, the team must dig deep, lean on squad depth, and continue to trust in Postecoglou’s strategic vision.
