Cynthia Erivo lifted up a stylish business look for an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” with a pair of vibrant teal Christian Louboutin boots, one of a few green accents paying homage to her “Wicked” character Elphaba.
Erivo was dressed in a gray and black pinstripe suit including mini shorts, an oversized blazer and a loosely knotted tie, all with the same pattern. A classic white collared shirt laid the foundation for the look. Erivo’s Elphaba nods included green earrings, shimmering green eyeshadow, and of course, her Louboutin boots. Alongside Ariana Grande, Erivo has been method dressing while promoting “Wicked,” which released on Nov. 22 with great box office success.
In a jewel tone green hue, the platform shoes were designed with a calf-length zip-up shaft and a towering stiletto heel. The boots appeared to be suede, bringing a soft matte aesthetic to her outfit. Louboutin’s signature red sole colored the bottom of the shoe.
Among many topics, Erivo discussed her shoe preferences with Hudson.
Hudson said to her guest and former “The Color Purple” Broadway co-star, “Let’s talk about your shoe game. Apparently you — now this I didn’t know about you — you love a stripper heel.”
Erivo replied, “I do, because they’re really high and they’re also extremely comfortable. There’s a really cool brand called Pleasers and they make stripper shoes. They’re for pole dancing but you can walk in them and they’re really high. I like a high heel as you can see.”
She continued, “The wonderful thing about that particular brand is that it comes in loads of different colors. So I can have the same boot that I know is comfortable, or the same shoe that I know is comfortable, and I can be in the heel and they can be in loads of different colors. That’s really it. But I love any high heel, really.”
“You work them well, you look fabulous, so I’m not mad at you. She got the legs to do it,” Hudson said.
Erivo has certainly shown her love of heels throughout the “Wicked” press tour. See more of the shoes she wore while promoting the movie below.
