Several nominees for Donald Trump's Cabinet were targeted with bomb threats and and swatting attacks Tuesday night in what the president-elect's team called "violent, unAmerican threats to their lives," according to a statement.
The attacks affected nearly a dozen of Trump's picks.
Karoline Leavitt, Trump's transition spokeswoman, said in a statement, "Last night and this morning, several of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees and administration appointees were targeted in violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them.
"These attacks ranged from bomb threats to ‘swatting.
"In response, law enforcement acted quickly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted. President Trump and the entire Transition team are grateful for their swift action."
It's unknown who was targeted in the attacks. Swatting refers to fake emergency calls that send armed officers to an address.
Law enforcement officials told Fox News officers responded to the homes of several nominees and administration appointees.
