MANILA, Philippines – It’s been over a week since President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced Mary Jane Veloso, the Filipina who has been on Indonesia’s death row for over a decade, will be coming home to the Philippines.
The Philippines and Indonesia have yet to announce details of Veloso’s transfer. For now, her family and supporters wait and pray.
On Tuesday, November 26, religious supporters and rights organizations held a special Mass and candle-lighting activity at the Sto. Niño de Violago Quasi-Parish in Quezon City for Veloso’s safe return and possible clemency grant. Her father, Cesar, was in attendance.
