SHE’S only 30, but has already been experimenting with Botox.
However, singing star Meghan Trainor has issued a word of warning to other young women considering the wrinkle-freezing injections after her latest procedure.
Meghan Trainor said she has “ruined” her smile after getting a lip flip[/caption] She said that’s the “biggest” she can smile, even when she tries hard[/caption] It’s a far cry from the way her smile usually looks[/caption]On her Workin’ On It podcast, Meghan admitted she decided to have a lip flip after being promised it could enhance her pout.
But she was left regretting it when it ended up with her smile all but disappearing.
“To all my fellow girlies out there, who’s in your 30s out there, hi,” Meghan began.
“I got too much Botox and I need help. I messed up. Listen, I’ve had Botox like a handful of times, just a few times, just on my forehead, you know.
“And someone convinced me with my little lips that if you did a lip flip, you put filler right above your upper lip, that you could have a beautiful flip on your upper lip and I could have one for the first time in my whole 30 years of living.”
But Meghan went on to insist it was “not true”.
“And also I cannot smile anymore,” she added, demonstrating just how “big” she can smile now.
After she was called out by her brother for having the procedure in a homeware store, Meghan admitted she now “can’t unsee it”.
“And everywhere I go, my face hurts to smile, it hurts to even try!” she said.
Sharing a snap of herself at a dog shelter event after having the lip flip, she pointed out: “I’m a happy person here, I’m holding a puppy, but I don’t look happy – I look like I smelt someone’s fart!”
However, she has learnt from the botched procedure.
“You know what this did teach me?” she said.
“It taught me that my smile does light up a room. And when it’s not there, it is a dim light.
“I feel like I’m not happy because I cannot smile.”
Meghan even admitted the extreme lengths she’s gone to in a bid to get rid of the filler above her lip – to reverse the lip flip.
“I’m taking vibrators to my upper lip being like ‘Get outta here!’ ” she laughed.
MEGHAN might have been left regretting her decision to get a lip flip, but what actually is it?
A lip flip involves a practitioner injecting botox into the corners of your mouth, and around the edges of the lips.
That then relaxes the muscles around the upper lip, which makes the upper lip “flip” a little and look larger than normal.
It’s been found effective for those with “gummy” smiles, but is a favourite among celebrities too.
It’s also considered to look more natural than lip fillers.
Results are seen after about a week, and can last up to around eight weeks.
The cost of a lip flip in the UK can range between £80 up to £200.
The ‘All About That Bass’ and ‘Lips Are Movin’ singer also used the podcast to reveal she’s having a boob job, after breastfeeding left hers “sagging”.
People in the comments section were quick to weigh in on Meghan’s lip flip regret, with one writing: “Hated my lip flip!
“I couldn’t drink out of a straw or properly say any word with a P in it. It was awful.”
“Babes this was the warning I needed. I had been thinking about the flip,” another admitted.
“Haaaated the lip flip. I couldn’t drink or eat in weeks,” a third said.
“Lip flip was the worst decision I’ve ever made,” someone else agreed.
“One time and never again!”
However, there were those who have loved the results of their lip flips, with some saying it may be that Meghan just hasn’t found the right person to do it for her.
“I actually LOVE my lip flip, it’s so important to find an injector who won’t over inject! I still have A LOT of mobility and beautiful results!” one insisted.
“I personally love my lip flip. I do drool a little though,” another laughed.
“I loved it! less painful than getting full lips done,” a third commented.
