BOSTON — Brad Park played for eight seasons with the Bruins and scored 100 goals in that span as one of the franchise’s historic defensemen.
Park still keeps an eye on the modern game and found similarities in his own game to that of Colorado Avalanche star Cale Makar.
“I like defensemen that hold onto the puck,” Park told reporters before “The Tradition” last Wednesday night at TD Garden. “When you come around the puck, you have to remember that the first thing you see is the first thing they see.”
Park added: “The shots are always on the net. That’s impressive.”
Makar already has 30 points with eight goals and 22 assists to start the season for Colorado and remains one of the top defenders in the game as a four-time All-Star.
The Bruins will see Makar and the Avalanche again when Colorado visits TD Garden on Jan. 25. Boston earned a 5-3 road win at Ball Arena on Oct. 16.
“The Tradition” airs Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. ET on NESN.
