7 guns seized from man at bus station, facing charges
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Several guns were seized at the NFTA station in downtown Buffalo from a man who police believe planned on selling them, police said Tuesday.
Police arrested 29-year-old Jaleel Battle on Friday. Police said he had been traveling by bus to Buffalo from Atlanta. When he arrived, police executed a search warrant and found seven guns, including a Glock 26 handgun and a Smith & Wesson M&P .40. NFTA police believe Battle planned on selling them.
He was arrested and charged with the following:
- seven counts, criminal possession of a firearm
- second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
- possession of a weapon that has been defaced
- possession of large capacity ammunition feeding device
“Our Transit Police officers are dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of our community,” NFTA police chief Brian Patterson said in a news release. "This arrest underscores the importance of strong partnerships with federal agencies like Homeland Security and our commitment to keeping illegal weapons off our streets.”
