AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Trail of Lights is celebrating 60 years in Zilker Park this year.
The family-friendly trail featuring more than two million lights, 96 lighted holiday trees and 70 displays and tunnels is open from Dec. 10 through Dec. 23.
There are also a handful of nights when general admission is free and tickets are not required — including grand opening night on Dec. 10 and UT Night on Dec. 11.
We spoke with Trail of Lights Foundation Board Director Enrique Duran II in October, who said this year's event will have a special presentation on the trail's evolution over the decades and those who made it possible.
If you have any questions about the Trail of Lights, more details are on the event FAQ page.
