PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A number of Portland businesses and organizations are working to ensure residents of all income levels receive a hot meal this Thanksgiving.
If you’re looking for a free holiday feast to enjoy with the community, or to take back home, here are a few local places serving it up this Thursday.
When: 10 a.m.
Where: 15 NW 3rd Ave., Portland, OR 97209
Local organization Union Gospel Mission expects to serve 450 meals, including stuffing, turkey and mashed potatoes, on Thursday. Visitors will also leave with a “snack sack” to enjoy later.
When: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., or until sold out

GrindWitTryz will offer free Thanksgiving meals for the first time since moving to its location in the Cully neighborhood. The Hawaiian eatery has yet to reveal its menu, but ensures it will serve one plate to each person while supplies last.

Proper is continuing its annual tradition of hosting a Thanksgiving Feast-ival at Celebration Tabernacle. The Kenton neighborhood event features live music and kids’ activities, in addition to free community meals.

After becoming one of Eater’s best new restaurants of 2024, Mémoire Cà Phê is giving back. The Vietnamese brunch spot's Thanksgiving plates will include roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese and braised greens.

As usual, this German pub will host Prostgiving and offer up traditional Thanksgiving dishes. Prost will open at its normal time of 5 p.m., but dinner will be served shortly after.
