Dior has announced new additions to the My Dior collection, its tribute to the House’s “history and heritage”.
These new pieces also invoke the Dior Joaillerie artistic director’s childhood memories of her visits to the Dior boutique and the women she encountered there.
The new pieces include a delicate cannage motif now unfurled on a series of precious rings, earrings and bracelets.
Its features are revealed in an interweaving of gold threads, “a subtle mesh evoking meticulously intertwined strands of straw”.
The golden blades are presented in a play with lacquer and gold to create unique pieces with a “harmonious interplay of contrasts”.
The brand stated: “Reflecting the spirit of Parisian couture, the complex construction of these creations testifies both to the virtuosity of the Maison’s artisans and to Victoire de Castellane’s boundless inventive audacity, reflected notably in the meeting of gold and lacquer – a signature technique – that sublimates some of the models. A multi-faceted celebration of excellent savoir-faire of traditional jewelry-making skills, combined with the timeless allure of Dior style.”
