Following the conclusion of the Maharashtra assembly polls, IPS officer Rashmi Shukla has been reinstated as Director General of Police (DGP). Shukla's compulsory leave, mandated by the Election Commission of India after Congress's demand for her removal, has ended. Sanjay Kumar Verma, who held the DGP post during the elections, has been replaced as the electoral process is complete.
