Match Report
After last week’s disappointment of exiting the FA Sunday Cup, it was a great bounce back with a 5-0 win over fellow Premier Division side Bushell Athletic in the Quarter Final of the Veronica Conway Cup.
A scrappy and tight 1st half saw The Dock enter the break with a narrow 1-0 lead courtesy of a Peter Morgan strike. A much brighter start to the 2nd half saw them double the lead through George Nugent. Following the second goal, manager Ross Waring made a triple change with Jack Kelly, Jay Harvey and Adam Lea replacing Peter Morgan, Jamie Eaton and Kieran Hamm and all would make significant impacts in the remainder of the game. Connor Courtnell added a 3rd goal before Adam Lea converted a great piece of play and assist from Jack Kelly before Jay Harvey added the fifth and final goal of the day.
Peter Morgan continues to add to the impressive start of his Dock career and goals from himself and Adam Lea now see the pair join Kieran Hamm on top of the club’s goalscoring stats so far this season having all found the net 7 times each.
The result was a positive way to enter a busy December period starting next week as we host Cheshire & Manchester Sunday League side Romiley FC in the Quarter Finals of The Cheshire Sunday Cup.
