A deep depression in the Bay of Bengal is expected to bring heavy rainfall to Tamil Nadu's coastal and delta districts over the next five days. Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, and Karaikal are predicted to experience extremely heavy rainfall, while several other districts are also forecast to receive very heavy to heavy rainfall.
