They then stormed the building in an attempt to kidnap one of the guests, Vladimir Zúñiga Calzada.
Horror footage shows the bride standing on a chair with her new husband as a gunman enters the hall and grabs a guest from the dance floor.
He is seen trying to lead the man away by his tie as the confused cameraperson says: “What has happened?”
The shooting took place at Casino del Pueblo in the city of Jalapa, located some 186 miles east of Mexico City.
At least five gunmen entered the hall to seize the victim on the dance floor.
When Vladimir resisted being bundled into a van, he was shot at the scene, according to reports.
At least two others were also injured during the attack.
Jalapa mayor, José Manuel Hernández Pérez, said: “There was an act of violence committed by several people, over five reported, at the city casino.
“They were heavily armed and gunshots were fired, resulting in three people being injured.
“One was seriously wounded and lost his life.”
He said the area is currently cordoned off and under surveillance as security agencies investigate the shooting.
The mayor added: “We are fully and absolutely supporting the affected families, hoping to provide information to them.
“We hope that our land will soon recover the peace we so desperately need.
“God bless our land and our people.”
In a press conference, the deputy prosecutor of the State Attorney General’s Office said the victim was suspected of being involved in illegal activities, including human trafficking.
The investigation continues.
Just days ago, ten people were killed after four gunmen stormed into a bar in another Mexican town and opened fire.
The shooting broke out on November 9 at Los Cantaritos bar in the downtown district of Santiago de Querétaro, about 120 miles northwest of Mexico City.
Security footage from the bar showed the gunmen piling out of their vehicle at around 9:30 pm.
Each of the suspects appeared to have huge, long-range guns, which they held up as they rushed into the popular bar.
One of the shooters was seen starting to open fire outside the bar.
More horrifying video from inside the bar showed the attackers shooting indiscriminately at people eating at tables.
People were seen screaming and throwing themselves on the floor and under tables to hide from the bullets ricocheting across the bar.
After a few minutes of gunfire, the group of criminals rushed back into the getaway car and escaped.
When police arrived at the bloody scene that night, they found 10 people dead and at least seven more injured, according to the city’s public security department chief Juan Luis Ferrusca.
