Every Italian should be mocking Baker Mayfield for his arm flailing.
The New York Giants rolled out Tommy DeVito as their starting quarterback this week, benching and releasing Daniel Jones coming out of their Week 11 bye. The return of DeVito means it’s time once again for his Italian-inspired hand celebration. It also means we get opponents doing the celebration to mock him.
Baker Mayfield is the latest Giants opponent to try and throw the hand celebration in DeVito’s face, and he did a decidedly poor job at it.

I’m only a quarter Italian, but I think I’m justified in mocking Baker for the way he flops his arms around. I feel like I’m watching some kind of atrocious parody of it. Noted Giants fan DrawPlayDave offered some helpful clarity. It really is all about the subtle forearm and wrist movement. It’s not about flailing your arms.
Honestly he should be ashamed, it was a terrible rendition, too much arm movement way up in the air, it's a more subtle forearm and wrist movement. Baker was just flailing his arms like a madman

Mayfield and the Bucs are probably not too worried about his hand gesture form or what this Italian thinks about it. They’re crushing the Giants at halftime, leading 23-0 and well on their way to gaining a half game back from the NFC South-leading Atlanta Falcons.
