Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has made three changes to the starting line-up for today’s Premier League game at Ipswich Town.
The Red Devils are currently on 15 points after 11 games, and they have the opportunity to climb into the top half of the table with a victory at Portman Road.
Amorim is making his managerial debut for United today and has made three changes from the 3-0 win over Leicester City at Old Trafford.
The Portuguese has opted for his preferred 3-4-2-1 formation. Andre Onana starts in goal as usual, but there is a notable change in the backline for the Red Devils.
With Lisandro Martinez unfit, Jonny Evans will partner Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui in the back three, with Diogo Dalot and Amad Diallo acting as wing-backs.
Midfielder Manuel Ugarte is only on the bench after his late arrival from international duty. Christian Eriksen has got the nod alongside Casemiro in the centre of the park.
Bruno Fernandes will be partnered by Alejandro Garnacho in the attacking midfield positions, while Marcus Rashford will lead the attack ahead of Rasmus Hojlund.
United are heavy favourites to beat the Tractor Boys, but they can’t be complacent. Ipswich have picked up three draws at home and recently won at Tottenham Hotspur.
The club need to be resolute at the back as Kieran McKenna’s side possesses an attacking threat. Amorim will be aiming to start his managerial career at United on a high with a convincing win.
Confirmed Man Utd line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Ipswich Town: Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Evans; Diallo, Casemiro, Eriksen, Dalot; Garnacho, Fernandes; Rashford.
