HELSINKI IS SET to build a new light rail line, with construction expected to begin between 2028 and 2032. The new route will improve public transport in the rapidly growing northern districts of the city.
The first phase of the tram line, named Viima, will connect Kallio to Malmi, passing through Kumpula, Viinikkala, and Malminkenttä, with a final stop at Malmi Hospital.
