FOOTBALLER turned manager Wayne Rooney has revealed his secret talent in a promise to I’m A Celebrity star wife Coleen.
The 39-year-old has revealed himself to be poet and is set to surprise wife Coleen with a pretty little ditty when the I am a Celeb star returns from the Australian jungle.
Wayne appeared via video link on I am a Celeb spin off show[/caption] The father-of-four admits that they’re all missing Coleen but are proud of her success so far[/caption]Appearing on I am a Celeb’s ITV2 Spin off unpacked via videolink, Wayne told Joel Dommett that he enjoys writing poetry.
He said: “It’s something I’ve always liked doing, expressing my feelings through poems. There’ll definitely be one waiting for her.’
When asked how their four sons- Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, eight and Cass, six, are coping without their mother, Wayne revealed that Coleen parents have been providing plenty of support.
As the manager of Plymouth Argle football team, Wayne is now largely based down south, miles from their family home in Cheshire.
“Coleen’s parents are helping out massively. I’m over in Plymouth with work, so we’ve got a good team looking after the kids, but yeah, we’re missing her.’
In recent times, Coleen has become known for her no nonsense, ‘Wagatha Christie’ moniker ,after her clever use of social media to uncover the source of leaked stories about her personal life.
But Wayne says that ITV’s I am a Celeb is a great platform for the public to see Coleen’s softer side.
It’s strange to be honest seeing her out there in the jungle,’ Wayne said. ‘She’s doing a great job showing her character and personality. She’s doing us all proud.’
‘She is a warm and caring person. It’s great to see her bridging the gap between the older and younger ones and settling in.’
His comments come after Coleen surprised her jungle campate GK Barry, by revealing her husband’s sweet romantic gesture that ‘keeps their romance alive.”
She said: “’Wayne’s always wrote me poems. You know the hotel pads? He was always writing a little poem and putting it in his bag and he’d give it to me when we got home.’
Clearly surprised by the confession, GK, 25, said: Wayne Rooney? That is so cute!’
In the Bush Telegraph, GK later admitted: ‘Never did I ever think that Wayne Rooney had it in him to write a love poem.
Indeed, during Coleen’s time in the telegraph, she said: ‘He is romantic in ways, we’re not the lovey dovey couple in public but little things like that I think it keeps the relationship alive.
‘And it’s special when someone’s done something just for you, and the words mean something.’
Earlier during an intimate conversation with Oti Mabuse, Coleen gave offered a rare glimpse into her 16-year marriage with Wayne, as she admitted that he’d ‘made mistakes.”
The WAG spoke about defying public opinion, after she was urged her to divorce the footballer after his infidelities come through the tough times stronger, because they work as a team.
‘Since the first mistake he’s made, that’s been in the public, people have not forgiven. When things have happened the public have wanted it to just go oh, split, you know, that’s it, split them up. But the fact is, there’s always been love still there.’
The Rooney’s married in a romantic ceremony in Porto Fino, in Italy, in 2008, which reportedly cost an estimated 5 million.
