Team India is set to post a massive target for Australia in the ongoing first Test at the Perth stadium. As the team bowled Australia out at 104, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul made a record partnership of 201 runs and helped India dominate the proceedings.
Australian bowlers were soon troubled by the heat in Perth as Indian batters continued to stockpile on runs. Australian skipper Pat Cummins used as many as 8 different bowlers in the innings, himself included.
At the end of second session, Steve admitted that Australia is way behind the game. There were signs of concern shown by Smith about the cracks opening up on the pitch.
“Fair way behind the game. Plenty to do and obviously have to bat well. Last 45 minutes or so, it has started to play tricks with the cracks. Not nice signs for us,” Steve said during the tea break.
