New Delhi: Rishabh Pant’s departure from Delhi Capitals (DC) ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction has been one of the most talked-about stories. Having joined DC in 2016, Pant spent nine seasons with the franchise, earning their unwavering support. He was retained ahead of both the IPL 2018 and 2022 mega auctions, even serving as their first-choice retention in 2022 with a ₹16 crore annual salary over three years.
Rishabh Pant’s departure from Delhi Capitals (DC) came as a surprise, given his status as the franchise’s homegrown star. However, contract negotiations between the two parties failed to yield an agreement. As a result, Axar Patel emerged as DC’s first-choice retention for IPL 2025 and will earn a salary of ₹16.50 crore.
Kuldeep Yadav has been retained by Delhi Capitals (DC) as their second-choice player for IPL 2025, with a salary of ₹13.25 crore. Tristan Stubbs will also remain with the franchise for ₹10 crore, while uncapped talent Abhishek Porel has earned a spot with a salary of ₹4 crore.
