PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — For the second consecutive year, OpenTable has selected a restaurant outside of Portland as Oregon’s sole entry on the top 100 restaurants list.
The restaurant reservation platform has published its 2024 roundup of America’s best eateries, based on reviews and ratings from diners.
While two Portland, Maine, restaurants were featured on the list, Newberg spot Rosmarino Osteria Italiana once again was the Beaver State’s only establishment to secure a spot.
“Dear ROSMARINO Friends, We did it again!” Owners Dario & Sheena Pisoni wrote in a social media post. “I want to take a moment to Really Deeply Thank our Team to provide always a remarkable experience to all our guests, and of course keeping the Rosmarino standards high. Thank you to make Rosmarino your favorite spot to feel home.”
OpenTable describes the restaurant as a “casual elegant” dining experience offering Italian dishes ranging from prosciutto and burrata to cacio and pepe al tartufo. The restaurant has an average rating of 4.9 stars, across more than 4500 reviews. Meal costs range from $31 to $50.
Also in the Pacific Northwest, Washington restaurants Spinasse and The Pink Door were included. Both Seattle spots serve Italian fare, and have an average rating of 4.8 stars.
California was the most-represented state on OpenTable’s annual roundup, with 19 restaurants on the list. This exceeds its 15 entries last year. However, Chicago’s 11 placements makes it the most-represented city.
"I couldn't be prouder of every restaurant that made this list for their incredible efforts to deliver hospitality to their guests at every turn,” OpenTable CEO Debby Soo said. “For diners, there's something for everyone on this list — it's an amazing hit list for locals and travelers too."
Although the Rose City’s food scene was snubbed in the ranking, the platform previously highlighted 12 Portland-area businesses for its “Icons” program. The new program showcases distinguished restaurants in top foodie destinations like Chicago, Miami and Washington, D.C.
Korean eatery Jeju, Mexican restaurant República and Russian spot Kachka were among the featured businesses.
