PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Police say a man was killed after being hit by a car while crossing on a red light in Vancouver Thursday evening.
Just before 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Northeast Fourth Plain Boulevard and 117th Avenue on reports that a vehicle had hit a pedestrian.
On arrival, they found the pedestrian had been hit by a car after reportedly crossing the street on a red light.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries, authorities said.
Police say the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
No further information has been released at this time.
Vancouver police say this is their 14th recorded fatality collision in 2024.
