Gaetz announced that he was withdrawing his nomination on Thursday, and Trump named former Florida Attorney General Bondi as his replacement choice that evening.
On Friday, Gaetz had a page up and running on Cameo, charging $525+ for a video message.
The former congressman is listed as a “political commentator.”
“Whether it’s a milestone birthday, an anniversary, or a long-awaited reunion, make it unforgettable with a one-of-a-kind Cameo video from Matt Gaetz,” the description on his profile reads.
The description continues, “You’ll have the chance to customize your request for Matt Gaetz, like asking them to mention inside jokes, share words of wisdom, or work in their signature catchphrases. Don’t be afraid to get creative with your request, especially for celebrations like weddings, retirements, or bachelor and bachelorette parties that call for a good laugh. No matter the occasion, the video will be yours to keep – share the fun and relive the moment for years to come.”
His short bio in a section labeled “More About Matt Gaetz” reads, “I served in Congress. Trump nominated me to be US Attorney General (that didn’t work out). Once I fired the House Speaker.”
Suggested uses for personalized Cameo video requests include “say happy birthday,” “ask a question,” “receive a pep talk,” or “get advice.”
Gaetz’s withdrawal came one day after the House Ethics Committee announced it would not release the files from the federal sex trafficking investigation into him—but a document from the Department of Justice’s probe was leaked to The New York Times two hours later.
Gaetz has denied all allegations, and the Justice Department declined to bring charges after investigating the matter.
Former Rep. George Santos also joined the platform after being ousted from the House last year.
