While many know Lauren Sanchez as Jeff Bezos‘ fiancee, she’s done quite a lot by herself, and she’s now telling everyone how life only gets better.
In a recent interview with Today Show hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie via Hello Magazine, Sanchez talked about life in her 50s, and how it’s really only the beginning.
“I never thought that when I turned 55 I would be a writer and married,” she said. “Life is just beginning. When I was 20, I was like, ‘Oh my God, life ends at 50.’
She added, “Let me tell you, it’s not like that, ladies. It’s not over, it’s just the beginning. It’s just getting better and better and I always say, when women say, ‘What’s it like to turn 50?’ It’s just the beginning.”
Oftentimes, when we’re in our 20s, we do feel like it’s a short window to actually live our lives. But as many older women, and many older stars say, life just gets better with age. (In fact, in a previous SheKnows interview with Kate Bosworth back in 2022, she told us, “One thing only I know is people are so afraid of aging — I’m 39. It only gets better. I know that for sure.”)
However, Sanchez has only been thriving with every passing year. At 30, she won an Emmy for anchoring KCOP-TV’s UPN News 13, then she welcomed her three children, and then, in 2016, she founded Black Ops Aviation, the first female-owned aerial film and production company. And now, at nearly 55 years old, she’s planning a wedding to Bezos, and wrote a children’s book called The Fly Who Flew to Space.
