Tottenham Hotspur receive some bad news ahead of their big clash against reigning Premier League champions Man City on Saturday.
The Tottenham players will be desperate to respond after their disastrous loss to Ipswich Town before the international break.
While most sides will be intimidated by the prospect of going to the Etihad, that might not be the case for Spurs, with a number of their players having been part of sides that have picked up some impressive results in that stadium.
This includes the 3-2 win under Antonio Conte in 2022 as well as the 3-3 draw last season despite the fact that the Lilywhites had an extremely depleted side out on the park.
However, they will be coming up against a City side, who have themselves lost four matches in a row before the international break and would be determined to get back to winning ways.
The Premier League champions might have just received a huge boost to their chances as a number of their key players are now back in full training.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Kevin de Bruyne, John Stones, Jack Grealish and Manuel Akanji are all back training with their teammates ahead of the big clash on Saturday evening.
That means that Tottenham could expect to face a near full-strength City side, which significantly reduces the margin of error for Ange Postecoglou‘s men, who know that they would have to play out of their skin to emerge with a good result.
Meanwhile, Tottenham fans will be worried about their own injury situation. Richarlison and Wilson Odobert are out with long-term injuries, and Micky van de Ven is still weeks away from a return.
Cristian Romero, who came off with a foot injury while playing for Argentina during the international break, will also miss the clash.
Rodrigo Bentancur will not be available after being hit with a seven-game suspension, with the midfielder unable to play any domestic games at the moment even though Tottenham have appealed the length of the ban.
