Star runner LeQuint Allen and the Syracuse Orange (7-3) face the UConn Huskies (7-3) on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET at JMA Wireless Dome.
In their most recent game, the Orange beat the California Golden Bears 33-25. The Huskies’ last game finished in a 31-23 win over the UAB Blazers. Against the Golden Bears, Kyle McCord led the Orange with 323 yards on 29-of-46 passing (63.0%) for one touchdown and no interceptions. Allen totaled 109 rushing yards on 23 carries (4.7 yards per carry), scoring two touchdowns on the ground. He added three catches for 25 yards. Oronde Gadsden II had eight receptions for 109 yards (13.6 per catch) against the Golden Bears. Nick Evers totaled 104 passing yards while going 15-for-24 with no touchdowns and one interception for the Huskies against the Blazers. He added 10 carries for 37 yards. Cam Edwards carried the ball 11 times for 82 yards and one touchdown. Jasaiah Gathings caught six passes on 10 targets for 52 yards (8.7 yards per reception), and scored one touchdown.
