One of the best rushers in college football will be featured when Kyle Monangai and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (6-4) take on the Illinois Fighting Illini (7-3) on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
The Scarlet Knights head into the matchup after winning 31-17 over the Maryland Terrapins in their last game on Nov. 16. The Fighting Illini are coming off of a victory over the Michigan State Spartans by the score of 38-16. Athan Kaliakmanis had 238 yards on 20-of-30 passing (66.7%) for the Scarlet Knights in that matchup against the Terrapins, with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also added seven carries for 26 yards. Monangai ran for 97 yards on 25 carries (3.9 yards per carry) and two touchdowns, adding one reception for three yards. Dymere Miller recorded eight receptions for 107 yards (averaging 13.4 per catch), while scoring one touchdown against the Terrapins. Luke Altmyer threw for 231 yards for the Illini against the Spartans, going 19-for-32 (59.4%) with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He added five carries for 20 yards. Josh McCray carried the ball nine times for 61 yards and three touchdowns. He caught one pass for six yards. Pat Bryant collected four catches for 135 yards (on six targets), with one touchdown.
