To go through every single one of Reynolds's movies that led to his massive net worth would take hours. So, we'll settle on the most popular movies that made him the star he is today.
Since its release in 2011, Green Lantern hasn't exactly gotten the recognition that some people may have hoped. In the film, Reynolds plays Hal Jordan, a fighter pilot chosen as the first human to join the Green Lantern Corps. While the movie didn't earn anyone cinematic praise by any means, Reynolds did land his first big paycheck at $15 million. Correct me if I'm wrong but in my book, The Proposal is undoubtedly one of the greatest romantic comedies of the 21st century. In the star-studded film, book editor Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) cons her assistant Andrew Paxton (Reynolds) into pulling off a fake engagement so she doesn't lose her work visa. In the film, which also features Betty White, Mary Steenburgen, and Craig T. Nelson, the unlikely duo end up falling in love and have quite an adventure along the way. And Reynolds surely netted at least a few million more.

While I've never actually heard of Spirited, it's apparently a Christmas musical comedy starring Reynolds and Will Ferrell. The film, which was released on Apple TV+ in 2022, is a comedic musical version of Charles Dickens's 1843 novel A Christmas Carol. Although this wasn't Reynolds's most popular movie by far, it's reported that The Adam Project actor made a whopping $30 million to star alongside Ferrell.
Red Notice was another film filled with some of Hollywood's top actors and actresses such as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Rita Arya. In the action-packed movie, Nolan Booth (Reynolds) is a thief on a mission to help John Hartley obtain Cleopatra's eggs. Red Notice was a hit and at one point became Netflix's most-watched movie ever. It also reached the No. 1 spot in more than 90 countries including the U.S. The praise the stars received didn't go unnoticed and Reynolds received a hefty $48.5 million for his role.
Reynolds is no stranger to acting in superhero movies, but his role as Deadpool secured his spot in the upper echelon. In both Deadpool and Deadpool 2, Reynolds plays the alter ego of Wade Wilson, a Canadian mercenary with superhuman healing abilities. As far as other business ventures outside of acting go, Reynolds has made some pretty significant investments. In 2018, Reynolds acquired an "unspecified minority" stake in Aviation American Gin, a brand of gin first produced in Portland, OR. In 2020, Aviation was sold to multinational alcoholic beverage maker Diageo for $610 million. While it's unknown how much Reynolds made from the sale, rumor has it he earned somewhere around $120 million.
Reynolds also acquired a 25% stake in Mint Mobile in 2019. In 2024, Reynolds and the other shareholders sold the brand to T-Mobile in a $1.35 billion sale. It's reported that Reynolds took home a $330 million chunk from the sale, boosting his net worth once again.
