The full injury report for Friday’s Emirates NBA Cup game.
The Golden State Warriors are getting set to face the New Orleans Pelicans for the third time this young NBA season, and hoping to make it three wins. The challenge is that, unlike in the first two matchups, the Warriors are on the road for this game. The advantage is that I’m not entirely sure how the Pelicans are going to field a full team.
Here’s the latest injury report.
Out — De’Anthony Melton (left ACL sprain)
This will, sadly, be a staple of the injury reports going forward, as Melton underwent season-ending surgery.
Probable — Steph Curry (left knee bursitis)
Curry has been on the injured list for a few games now, but it hasn’t kept him from playing. It’s worth keeping an eye on this time around though, as the Warriors are playing a back-to-back.
Out — Zion Williamson (left hamstring strain)
Injuries have kept Williamson out for all but six games this year, though he played in both of the Pelicans’ losses against the Warriors.
Out — Dejounte Murray (left hand fracture)
Murray hasn’t played since making his Pelicans debut in the first game of the season and getting injured. His return is around the corner, but it’s not happening tonight.
Out — Jose Alvarado (left hamstring strain)
One of the league’s premier defensive players is going to be out for a while. Alvarado will likely be sidelined until near the new year.
Out — Herbert Jones (right shoulder strain)
At this point we’re into an almost comical amount of quality players who have been ruled out for this game.
Doubtful — CJ McCollum (right adductor strain)
McCollum was injured in the Pelicans first game against the Warriors back on October 29, and he hasn’t played since. He could return against the Dubs tonight, but probably not.
Questionable — Brandon Ingram (left ankle sprain)
The Pelicans will certainly be hoping that Ingram is able to play. If he isn’t, I’m not entirely sure how they’re supposed to score given the other names who are out.
Questionable — Jordan Hawkins (low back strain)
Like most of his teammates, Hawkins has been out for a while. He had a really good performance the last time the Pelicans and Warriors played.
Questionable — Yves Missi (left shoulder soreness)
Missi, the 21st overall pick in this year’s draft, has played in every New Orleans game in his rookie season, but that is threatening to come to an end tonight.
Enjoy the action, Dub Nation!
