Tottenham Hotspur return to Premier League action this weekend with a trip to champions Manchester City.
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou was back in front of the media at the club’s Hotspur Way training base on Friday afternoon.
With the international break now done and dusted, the attention turns back to domestic football and Postecoglou’s side are back in at the deep end with a tough clash against City.
Tottenham will be looking to get their season back on track following the disappointing 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town last time out but face a City side who have also struggled in recent matches.
Tottenham will be once again without Micky van de Ven, who is not yet ready to return following his hamstring issue and is joined on the sidelines by his defensive partner, Cristian Romero.
The Argentine withdrew from international duty ahead of their match against Peru earlier this week to return to London due to his foot problem.
Postecoglou told Football.London: “Romero won’t be right for tomorrow’s game. We’re hoping he’ll be right for next week. Then sort of the main ones who were out before that are still out.”
Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur misses out due to his seven-match suspension, with Tottenham having lodged an appeal over the length of the ban.
