NEW YORK (PIX11) – New Yorkers woke up to the city’s first snow fall of the season on Friday morning.
The flurries came after parts of New York were placed under a Winter Storm Warning and Winter Weather Advisory by the National Weather Service.
Commuters can expect the snow to gradually transition into showers with continued gusty winds as they head out the door. The early part of Saturday will also bring more cloudy weather and snow showers.
Higher snow accumulation is expected north and west of the city in Hudson Valley, Putnam County, and parts of New Jersey. The weather has already caused some school delays and closings throughout the state.
