New breakfast restaurant opens soon in west Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) - A new rustic breakfast food restaurant is set to open its doors later this week in the Capital City.

Mackenzie Garrett with First Watch told 27 News in a press release the new restaurant is due to open to the public on Monday, Nov. 25 in west Topeka. The restaurant will be open from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for pickup, delivery and dine-in at 1825 Southwest Wanamaker Road.

First Watch, based out of Florida, is open to people interested in getting breakfast, brunch and lunch. The new location in Topeka will be 3,800 square feet and can seat more than 170 people inside and out on its covered patio. People can also grab house-made juices at both an indoor and outdoor bar.

"First Watch’s menu takes an elevated approach to traditional breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings. All dishes are made to order using fresh ingredients in a kitchen without heat lamps, microwaves or deep fryers. Fan favorites include Avocado Toast, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and Million Dollar Bacon."

Customers who visit First Watch during its open hours from Monday, Nov. 25 to Wednesday, Nov. 27, along with on Friday, Nov. 29, will get a free cup of "Project Sunrise" coffee with their dine-in meal. The business will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Topeka's new First Watch will employ 30 people who operate on a one-shift day, "No Night Shifts Ever" approach to give them time to enjoy the rest of the day and have a higher quality of life.
