India and Australia are set to face each other on November 22, as the first match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in the Optus stadium in Perth. According to the Perth curator Isaac McDonald, they have been attempting to replicate the old WACA stadium in Optus to offer bounce and pace.
However that planning has taken a slap to the face as the city has been bombarded with unexpected rainfall, which has resulted in the pitch not being in the conditions that the officials have been trying it to get it like.
The rain is predicted to have a massive impact on the opening day, along with the toss. According to weather forecast, there is 25% chance of rain on the first day of the opening Test. The weather will be suitable for the pace bowlers as the rain is going to be there in the morning only.
There is little chance of rain for the rest of the match, only morning of the first Test will witness a shower. Although there may be clouds in the sky, the weather should not be something to be worried about later on in the match.
