STRICTLY’S Pete Wicks has been dealt a crushing blow ahead of a ‘brand-new challenge’ in week 10.
Towie star Pete, 35, is the 11-10 favourite with leading bookmaker Coral to be eliminated from the competition this weekend.
It comes just days ahead of the show’s upcoming installment, which promises a big challenge for the remaining contestants.
Pete faces increasing pressure on the dance floor, and the odds suggest he may be the next celebrity to leave the competition.
He is expected to face a tough battle in the upcoming dance-off, with Montell Douglas, the 5-2 second favourite, also in danger of elimination.
In the race for the Glitterball Trophy, Chris McCausland is firmly in the lead, now priced at 1-4, with Sarah Hadland trailing behind at 4-1.
Coral’s John Hill said, “Pete Wicks tops the betting to be the latest contestant to leave Strictly Come Dancing this weekend. We think he could be in the dance-off with Montell.”
The odds for the next elimination show Pete Wicks at 11-10, followed by Montell Douglas at 5-2, JB Gill at 7-2, Jamie Borthwick at 6-1, Sarah Hadland at 66-1, and Chris McCausland at 100-1.
This week Pete and Jowita will dance the Tango to Easy Lover by Phillip Bailey and Phil Collins.
It comes after fans ‘worked out’ the reason Pete avoided the bottom two last week.
For their Blackpool week Cha Cha Pete wore a pair of skintight pink PVC trousers.
After Pete faced criticism for the performance, viewers insisted it was his costume that saved him.
Writing on social media, one said: “I can only assume people were voting for the pink trousers as it sure as hell wasn’t the dancing!”
Someone else wrote: “So how the hell did Pink Pete not be in the dance-off?
“His Cha Cha was the worst dance of the night! Must have been the Pink trousers that won it for him.”
And a third added: “Please vote for the dancing, not the pink trousers! He was shocking.”
