Netflix will not be moving forward with a second season of Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.
In November 2023, the original cast of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World reunited for the animated series on the streaming platform.
One year later, graphic novelist Bryan Lee O’Malley, who executive produced the show, confirmed that the series would not be returning. He commented on the decision in a message to fans.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Bryan reflected on the series, saying that “It was like conducting a symphony orchestra every day.”
“Anyway, we were recently informed that the show will NOT return,” he confirmed. “As you know, we only intended one season, and called in a lot of favors to make it happen, so making more would have been nearly impossible. Still, I know some of you have been holding out hope. ????????????”
He particularly singled out fans of Matthew and Gideon, noting that they “will suffer the most” with the news.
