The Bismarck Bobcats following a weekend sweep at home of the North Iowa Bulls, will now travel to Mason City for the 3rd and 4th straight meetings against the Bulls.
Taking a look at this past weekend, both games were decided by just one goal. Friday night was a very tightly contested contest with both teams trading blows in the 1st period. However, Josh Lehto’s 2nd period game-winning goal was the difference maker in that contest.
As for Saturday’s contest, the shots on goal category would’ve told you a completely different story compared to what actually happened. The Bobcats more than doubled the shot total of the Bulls, outshooting them 48-23. Despite the stat line, that game was decided by shootout. In the 9th round it was defenseman, Calle Arvedson, striking for the home side and delivering the 2 points to Bismarck.
Looking ahead to this weekend, the Bobcats come into this contest with a 17-1-1 record (35 pts), which sits not only at the top of the Central division, but also the top of the league. North Iowa comes into the contest in 6th place with a 9-8-1 record (19 pts).
