Singer and actress Katharine McPhee chose understated black to attend this year’s Country Music Awards. The performer was at the annual event as a presenter. Fresh off of her own Grand Ole Oprey debut last month, McPhee joined a lineup that included Simone Biles, Jeff Bridges among others. When she hit the red carpet, the “American Idol” alum, wore a black suit, without a shirt, a simple scarf as well as the requisite cowboy boots.
McPhee, who was a runner up on “American Idol” season five and signed a deal with the Nashville-based Melody Place to release new music next year, wore a pair of black patent leather boots for the appearance. The boots feature a regular medallion (or toe bug) stitching across the top. Though it may seem decorative, this stitching provides the boot with additional flexibility and flexion.
The shoe also has a block heel likely of about three to four inches.
It’s unclear which boot McPhee wore exactly but it looks similar to Partlow’s Coco style. That shoe is done in a high gloss patent leather like McPhee’s. It also includes and almond toe. While the shaft of McPhee’s boots are not visible, the coco is a pull on style that goes up the shin with pull tabs on the collar.
Though country western styles have been trending this year, they are a constant on country music red carpets. At the American Country Music Awards earlier this year, multiple stars were spotted in the silhouette including Anne Wilson, Reyna Roberts and Queen Noveen amongst others. Reba McEntire, the host of that event, notably wore a pair of bright red boots from her collection of more than 85 pairs.
The 2024 CMA Awards, is broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. The night, which celebrates the best, brightest and most talented in country music is hosted by Luke Bryan, Peyton Manning, and Lainey Wilson. The night’s nominations are led by Morgan Wallen with seven CMA Award nominations.
