Heavy rainfall from the intensifying northeast monsoon has led to school closures in several districts across Tamil Nadu. The affected districts include Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, and Tiruvarur. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert, forecasting moderate rainfall across the state for the next five days and authorities are urging residents to exercise caution.
