MIDTOWN SOUTH (PIX11) -- A search is underway after part of a 9/11 memorial was stolen from a church in Midtown South.
A gold-plated metal rose was taken from the memorial inside the Church of St. Francis of Assisi at around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the NYPD.
Police released surveillance footage of a man walking down the street holding the rose. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
