PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The man accused of the fatal shooting at a Woodburn grocery store last year was found guilty of second-degree murder by a Marion County jury on Wednesday.
The jury determined that Jose Gustavo Garcia-Rivera, 38, shot and killed Noel Romero-Orozco, 39, on June 4, 2023, at the Mega Foods grocery store in Woodburn.
Garcia-Rivera was also found guilty of recklessly endangering another person.
Sentencing is set for Nov. 26. Second-degree murder carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison, without the possibility of parole prior to 25 years, according to Oregon law.
