Just when you thought the news couldn’t get any worse, Nicole Kidman decided it was time to drop a bombshell. Do you know those incredible photos of her? The ones that we all thought were of her leaving her attorney’s office after getting divorced from Tom Cruise, finally legally unbound from the shackles of Scientology and weird stunts? Well, according to Kidman, those photos are actually not from that situation at all. In fact, they are not even from her real life.
In a new interview with British GQ, Kidman unpacked many of her most beloved memes, including the infamous ”divorce photos.” “That was not me,” she said of the images, laughing as if she were not shattering my sense of reality into one million pieces. “That was from a film; that wasn’t real life.”
Not … real life? Why would she tell us that? Heads are spinning, and many of your friends’ mood boards are going to need serious reorganizing. I have no idea what movie these photos are from (Kidman didn’t specify), and personally, I do not plan to find out. Until someone shows me otherwise, I will choose to go on believing that Kidman really did divorce Tom Cruise in that outfit and strut out into a parking lot to live, laugh, love, and show paparazzi her newly divorced palms. How else am I supposed to believe freedom is real?
