THIS is the shocking moment a sore loser knocks out his sporting opponent with a brutal kick to the face.
The attacker had just lost the final of a pickleball tournament before lashing out across the court.
Violent footage from Mexico shows the moment Peter Shonk accidentally knocks the man’s racket out of his hand.
He can be seen quickly going to pick it up.
Suddenly, the man flies into a bizarre rage and swiftly delivers a punishing kick to Peter‘s face.
The clip shows Peter collapsing over the net before slumping to the floor, knocked out.
The kicker is then surrounded by a crowd of confused and angry onlookers.
Peter said: “I was just fired up after the win.
“I went to tap his paddle, and it fell out of his hand. I immediately bent to pick it up [for him]—no bad intentions—but what happened next shocked everyone.”
Peter was rushed to hospital after the attack after he fell unconscious for three hours and later suffered memory loss.
Before the inexplicable incident, Peter can be heard shouting “Come on! Let’s go!” as he lands the winning point.
The event happened on November 18.
It was uploaded to social media by The Kitchen Pickleball, who expressed their own disgust in the caption of the post.
The caption read: “This video is absolutely insane.
“While I understand things get heated at tournaments this behavior is disgusting and completely unacceptable.
“I love pickleball as much as anyone I know but at the end of the day…it’s just pickleball.”
Social media video of the event has been shared to a flurry of furious responses.
One comment underneath the video said: “Well that was stupid!
“He didn’t mean to do it.. the guy doing the kicking was mad that he lost.. that the underlined anger.
“Now you’re gonna catch a case.
“Hard lesson.”
Another read: “I hate how everyone rushes to protect the kicker.”
The video has been liked over 500,000 times on Instagram.
It is understood that Peter was not seriously hurt.
Fortunately for the kicker, Peter has decided not to press charges, reports confirm.
It is currently unclear where the incident took place.
Pickleball is a racket sport similar to tennis, except a smooth-faced paddle is used to hit a hollow plastic ball across the net.
