CEBU, Philippines – The Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu has officially released the general schedule of activities as Cebu is set to celebrate the 460th Fiesta Señor in January 2025.
The theme is “Santo Niño: Hope of the Pilgrim Church.”
The Fiesta Señor is considered a liturgical celebration with roots that date back to the arrival of Christianity in the Philippines. It is comprised of religious activities like the nine-day novena, Traslaciones (procession of pilgrim images), the Visperas Mass with historical reenactments, and the feast day on the third Sunday of January.
As is the tradition, the images of Señor Santo Niño and the Virgen de Guadalupe de Cebu will be brought to the hospitals and jails of Cebu as part of the pre-fiesta activities.
